and it all began when…

Born in Manila during the fourth deadliest typhoon in history. Survived two plane crashes before the age of four. First generation immigrant. Grew up in Maryland. Graduated from the Carnegie Mellon School of Drama’s Directing Program.

Worked in LA for the likes of Marty Katz and Lee Miller. Moved to New York. On- and off-Broadway shows. Mentored by George C. Wolf, Brian Kulick, and Jerry Zaks. Shows at NBC and VH1. Assisted the heads of production at Cine International and EUE Screen Gems.

Full stop. My doctor delivered the news that I could be dead in a year and I had no health insurance. So, I switched over to venture capital.

Then, after being stuck in the first car of a subway pulling into Bowling Green, when the first tower collapsed on 9/11 — helplessly watching as the smoke, dust, and ash drifted across the platform — it was time to move — to Charleston, SC to a dream job as the Gallery Director for Ann Long Fine Art.

The Southern idyll ended explosively on the business end of a domestic violence altercation.

Then full circle back to LA to a string of dynamic roles in finance: the researchist and portfolio administrator for the private equity fund at Oaktree Capital and gatekeeper to a top VC…but then all of the stories inside me demanded to come out.

After almost a decade of looking for my voice, the return to Directing and to tell deeply personal stories that seek to challenge the viewer to enter a potentially alien psychological and moral space in order to explore our society’s most pressing individual and collective social crises.

after all, I didn’t survive all those disasters to grow up to be a desk jockey.
